MDF originated in the United States in the mid-1960s. Subsequently, in the late 1970s, Fujian Furen Wood Industry Co., Ltd. pioneered the introduction of fully automated MDF production lines from the US, initiating its rapid development in China. This rapid growth is attributed to the fact that MDF can be produced using small-diameter timber, possessing not only excellent physical and mechanical properties, decorative properties, and processing performance, but also significantly conserving timber resources (timber utilization rate increased to over 50-60%). Therefore, MDF products quickly gained widespread market recognition and acceptance, driving the vigorous development of the entire engineered wood products industry. Currently, Guangxi province ranks among the top producers of engineered wood products in China.
