Processing Requirements for Plywood

The processing requirements for plywood are very high. Not only does it require sufficient space for the wood to undergo adequate natural drying, but it also necessitates strict control over the drying process in a drying kiln. Furthermore, the quality of the processing equipment is crucial, requiring significant financial investment and ensuring product precision and quality. Especially after the national mandatory implementation of limits on harmful substances in decorative materials, the adhesives used in plywood must be improved, increasing costs by approximately 10%. Coupled with the continuous rise in raw material prices, it's impossible to manufacture truly green and environmentally friendly plywood for 50-60 yuan. Even E1-grade plywood meeting national standards, priced around 90 yuan, already represents a minimal profit. If consumers blindly pursue low prices and purchase cheap, inferior plywood that seriously harms human health, legitimate manufacturers will struggle to survive.

Only E1-grade plywood should be used in home decoration and renovation. Even if the product is E2-grade and meets standards, its formaldehyde content may be more than three times higher than that of E1-grade plywood, so it should absolutely not be used in home decoration and renovation. Secondly, it's crucial to purify and seal plywood that cannot be finished, especially for back panels, cabinet interiors, and radiator covers. Experts have developed formaldehyde sealants, formaldehyde sealing waxes, and aerosols that eliminate and seal formaldehyde; using these during the renovation process yields the best results. However, excessive use of E1 grade plywood can still cause overall indoor formaldehyde levels to exceed standards. Therefore, even plywood that meets standards is not necessarily completely harmless.

Generally, for a room of about 100 square meters, the use of plywood should not exceed 20 sheets. Other interior decorations should also be considered; excessive use can lead to excessive formaldehyde levels in the indoor environment. In particular, avoid using plywood as lining under flooring to prevent severely excessive formaldehyde levels in the indoor air.
